A rustle of leaves as you walk past usually indicates a resident skink scurrying for cover, ranging from the much bigger Mullet Skink to the little Eastern Water Skink. Go to move a stone or piece of wood and you could disturb a well camouflaged little gecko. Most of these little critters seem to frequent the rocks and crevices close to the house.
