Noisy Friarbird Gallery

Philemon corniculatus
These birds turn up at Wombolly in large numbers and live up to their name when the Silky Oaks are flowering, chattering and chasing each other through the blooms.  An early arriver is also partial to a feed from the flowering Waratah in Spring.  They also gorge on flying termites when these insects decide to mass migrate.  A well-named bird all round.  Click on images to enlarge.

Listen to the call and chatter of the Noisy Friarbirds in the Silky Oaks recorded at Wombolly.
